My Background
For as long as I can remember I have been entranced by and loved animals, but I was specifically drawn to horses and dogs. I loved the pony rides at the fair and would cry when mom had to pull me off. For my 5th birthday present, I got to have my first riding lesson. I started off western, but as I was exposed to more English riding, I knew that was what I wanted to do and had to try it. In 2015 I had my first English lesson and loved it. I joined my local 4H club when I was in 8th grade and joined my high school equestrian team (OHSET) in 10th grade.
My Experience
While in 4H and OHSET, I took lessons and competed in multiple disciplines. English and western equitation, trail, showmanship, and dressage, jumping, gaming, team penning, In-Hand Obstacle Relay, and drill.
The first jobs I had were doing barn chores at the boarding stable next to my house and riding two horses for an owner who wanted them exercised more than they could do. I also would catch the occasional dog or house sitting job. During college I worked at multiple barns, did more photography, and house-sat for lots of families.
My Current Life
I graduated with an Equine Science degree from Montana State University in 2023. During college I was on the IHSA and polo teams, interned for my trainer for a summer, worked as a stable hand and did more photography.
I own an 8 y/o Warm Springs Reservation mustang named Steel and a border collie/lab named Leo. Sadly, in May of 2020, my first horse, Phoenix, passed away. Phoenix Equine and Pet Care is named in remembrance and honor of him.
